Jill+Eric ~ GA Country Wedding : Chota Falls

Wow, the last few months have been the busiest months of my life. In all the chaos two of my high school bestest friends, Jill and Ashley, both got married. They both had beautiful outdoor weddings in the mountains and both were stunning brides. I hope to share Ashley’s wedding soon but until then here’s a sneak peek of Jills. Her venu felt like a resort. The wedding party, which I was in, stayed in big cabins throughout the property. They had a total of 15 in their wedding party and they definitely knew how to have a party! Jill and Eric were married in front of a gorgeous waterfall and guest came from all over to share this special day with them. The weather was teasing us with rain here and there, but once the ceremony was to start the sun came shining through! As soon as the wedding was over and we went to enter the reception hall it started pouring. I’m not going to say I’m a lucky charm but this has happened at the last 4 weddings I’ve shot?! So if you’re afraid of rain on your wedding day, book me to be your ray of sunshine <3

Jami+Grant ~ Pell City, AL Wedding Photography : Sweet Apple Farms

Let me start off by saying even when the forecast is 100% chance of rain, there is still a possibility the sky will hold off so you can have the wedding you dreamed of. This is what happened last weekend at Jami+Grant’s wedding. We were so lucky to be able to keep everything as planned. Jami wasn’t fazed by anything negative. This was hers and Grant’s day and she was beaming with positive energy! Even when her dress got a little muddy she was like, “Who cares? I’m only going to wear it once!” She also did so many DIY projects to make her wedding extra special. I really loved getting to know her and Grant, and I now consider them friends. Please enjoy some photos from this stunning wedding!

Though Grant is an Alabama fan, ROLL TIDE, Jami is an Auburn fan. She hid this tiger on the back of his Bama grooms cake!

Engraved Jack Daniels for the groomsmen and super cute monogrammed bags for the bridesmaids!

Jami made these cute signs for her bridesmaids and we took this same photo with her phone and sent it to Grant before he saw her!

Jason+Rebekka ~ Movie Themed Wedding : Georgia Dallas Theater

Lights, Camera, Action! This wedding was one of a kind. I met the groom, Jason, years ago in high school on the drumline. That’s right, I played bass drum. I don’t remember ever being very good, but my old friends begged to differ last weekend which surprised me. I then went to UA and was in colorguard. Jason was one of the only people I knew when arriving in Alabama and we became best friends and then roommates! We had epic costume themed parties. For example, tin foil theme, what you want to be when you grow up theme, super hero vs villain theme! Theme parties were our forté, so it only made sense that his wedding would be the biggest theme party ever.

Jason and Rebekka gathered their all time favorite movies and incorporated them in to their special day. Jason and his best man were dressed as Dumb and Dumber and his other groomsmen were dressed like the Big Lebowski. Rebekka dressed traditionally which they explained in a homemade movie before the wedding started on the big screen! All of her bridesmaids/man dressed as Harry Potter characters, the ring bearers were dressed as the Three Amigos, and all guest were invited to dress up as well! Jason and Rebekka had been taking dance lessons months before the wedding so they could preform the actual Dirty Dancing dance. They even pulled off the lift at the end! Rebekkas sister made both of the stunning cakes from scratch! There was movie trivia, an epic ice cream bar, and movie clips playing all night. They thought of it all! This was truly a wedding to never forget. I can’t express how happy I am for these two to live happily ever after!

Jason is a graphic designer so he photoshopped his wedding party in to their favorite movie posters!

Each table was decorated with a different movie theme and fresh popcorn!

They had an ah-mazing ice cream bar!

Bryant djed the wedding! We dressed as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum! Here we are taking a break to dance to his sweet tunes!

St Paul and The Broken Bones ~ Birmingham Band Photography : WorkPlay

I was surprised when I got a message asking to photograph, up and coming artist, St Paul and The Broken Bones for their new EP. I met them before their sold out show at WorkPlay to take a few shots of the group. I will say that photographing six guys is pretty challenging, haha. I was lucky enough to be put on the guest list for the show too. Their performance blew me away! I was honored by the invitation to capture such a strong band with such soul. Paul really sings with his heart and convinces his listeners from the stage, letting the music move him. Be sure to check out their incredible live show if they are playing near you! These dreamy dudes are going to make it big so let’s support them along the way.

This is when I asked Paul to sing his highest note, hehe.

Becky & Matt had mutual friends who tried to get them to meet several times throughout the years. It wasn’t until their friends made them both godparents of their new daughter that they finally met at the christening. Soon after they fell in love and knew they were meant for each other. They were engaged a year later and are now married! They are the sweetest couple who would do anything for each other. I love my job and learning each couple’s love story. This was truly a unique one.

Irish Ali ~ Galway, Ireland : Irish Portraiture & Wedding Photography

Happy St Patty’s weekend! My husband and I, plus my best friend, and several family members went to Ireland last October. It is one of my absolute favorite places to visit, though I may be a bit biased. I gained an appreciation for my Irish heritage when I started Irish step dancing at age 10. Also while studying at the Brooks Institue I spent 2 months in Ireland working on a documentary project with 12 other photographers. At the culmination of the project, we created a DVD, gallery exhibit, book, and website. I was actually the one who designed and created our Website. Feel free to take a moment and check it out, there’s some really stunning work.

Ireland is truly a magical place! The people are so friendly and the beauty is overwhelming. Ali and I decided to take some Irish inspired portraits. She wore a gold headband and a green dress from Anthropology. She also wrapped herself in a knitted shawl my mom made all my bridesmaids for my wedding. We literally just pulled over on the side of the road where we found some abandoned ruins. We were welcomed by the cutest donkeys who also wanted to have their photos taken. Our session was short but sweet due to the chill breeze but I think we really got some great shots. If any of you ladies are thinking about a destination wedding, the summers are stunning in Ireland! We really started the year off with a perfect wedding! The venue was breathtaking and almost as beautiful as the glowing couple on this special day. Heather and Kurt are so sweet they radiate off one another. Yolanda, the owner of this beautiful home, started hosting weddings after her niece held her recpetion here a few years back. When the wedding was over Yolanda knew this was something she wanted to keep doing! We’re all thankful she welcomes us to her home because it is picture perfect. Sneak Peak ~ Montevallo, AL Farm Engagement

This sweet couple and their pups have decided to have their wedding on their beautiful property in Centreville, AL. It’s going to be a shabby sheik intimate wedding with a lot of personal touches. The property was stunning on its own, so they wont have to do much to turn this into a formal affair. I look forward to returning in June to capture more of Gabby and Curtis in this breath taking landscape.

Jami+Grant ~ Surprise Snowy Engagement : Birmingham, AL

Baby, it’s cold outside! It was a bit chilly when I started photographing this beautiful couple. But I had no idea we would get surprise snow flurries at sunset right as we were wrapping up our session. Too bad it only lasted a blink of an eye. We were literally about to get in our cars when we all ran back into the field to capture one ore two shots before it was gone. I couldn’t imagine anything more romantic. These two love birds were too cute together and it was so great getting to know them both. Jami is a kindergarden teacher so we thought an apple and chalkboard would be a nice touch in their session. She wrote something true to their love story in chalk and I couldn’t have thought of anything more perfect. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in May. I know there will be so many special details and I look forward to capturing them all.
